Cookie Policy

What this site stores on your device, why, and how to change your choice.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device so that it can remember something between pages or visits. Websites also use similar browser storage that is not technically a cookie but does the same job. This policy covers both, and uses "cookies" for short.

2. The cookies this site sets

Before you make a choice in the banner, and after you decline, the site sets nothing non-essential and makes no request to any analytics service. One strictly necessary item is stored whichever way you choose.

  • site-consent (browser storage, strictly necessary): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so you are not asked again and so that analytics stays off on later visits if you declined. It has no expiry and is removed when you clear site data for uberbinder.com.

Staff who log in to the website's editing system receive a session cookie of their own. Visitors to the public site never receive it.

3. Analytics and consent

If you accept analytics, the site uses one service, PostHog, to understand how the site is used. It records page views, the links and buttons you use, click and scroll positions, your browser and device type, your screen size, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. It does not record what you type into forms, and it does not record your screen. We do not use it for advertising or for tracking you across other sites.

With your consent, PostHog stores:

  • ph_<token>_posthog (cookie and browser storage, 365 days): a random anonymous identifier so repeat visits count as one visitor, and the current session state.
  • __ph_opt_in_out_<token> (browser storage, no expiry): PostHog's own record that you withdrew consent, kept so that capture cannot restart by mistake.

The analytics traffic travels through this website's own address rather than directly to PostHog, so the cookie is set for uberbinder.com. PostHog is hosted in the United States; our Privacy Policy explains the safeguards for that transfer.

4. Changing your choice

Use the Cookie preferences button in the footer of every page. Choosing Decline after an earlier Accept stops analytics immediately and removes the analytics identifiers from your device. You can also clear site data for uberbinder.com in your browser, after which the banner appears again. If your browser blocks storage, for example in a private window, your choice cannot be remembered and analytics stays off.
