Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal information, and your rights.

Last updated ·

1. Introduction

This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It applies to uberbinder.com only. We have tried to write it plainly; if anything is unclear, write to us at the address at the end.

2. Who we are

Uberbinder Limited is the controller of the personal information described here. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 13354556, with our registered office at Materials Innovation Factory, 51 Oxford Street, Liverpool L7 3NY, United Kingdom. Uberbinder Limited is a subsidiary of Uberbinder, Inc., a Public Benefit Corporation registered in Delaware, United States.

3. What we collect

We collect personal information in three ways.

  • When you use the Speak with us form: your name, organisation, role, email address, country and the message you write. All of these are needed to reply to you.
  • When you accept analytics cookies: a random identifier, the pages you visit, the links and buttons you use, your browser and device type, your screen size, and an approximate location at country or city level derived from your IP address. Nothing you type into a form is collected this way. See the Cookie Policy for the detail.
  • When our hosting provider serves the site: standard server logs, including your IP address, the page requested and the time. These are kept for a short period for security and to keep the site running.

We do not collect special category data, and this website is not intended for children.

4. How we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and, where you ask, to explore working together. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, where a contract follows, taking steps at your request before entering into it.
  • To understand how the site is used so that we can improve it. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give or refuse in the cookie banner and can withdraw at any time.
  • To keep the site secure and available. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe service.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiries are delivered to us by email and a copy is kept in the website's content system so that nothing is lost if an email fails. We delete that copy once the enquiry has been handled, and in any case within twelve months. Analytics data is held by our analytics provider for up to one year. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a matter of days.

6. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf and under contract: Vercel (hosting and image storage), Neon (database, hosted in London), Resend (delivering enquiry emails) and PostHog (analytics, only with your consent). Some of these providers are based in the United States; where information leaves the United Kingdom, the transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard. We do not otherwise share personal information unless the law requires it.

7. Cookies and analytics

The site sets nothing non-essential until you accept analytics in the banner. One item is stored whichever way you choose, the record of your choice itself. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences button in the footer. The Cookie Policy describes exactly what is stored and for how long.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to withdraw consent where we rely on it, and to receive the information you gave us in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email us. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab). We would welcome the chance to address your concern first.

9. Changes

We will update this policy when our practices change, and the date at the top shows when we last did so.
