Uberbinder Named Official Partner of World Engineering Day 2026

World Engineering Day (WED) 2026 anchors a year-long international campaign under the theme “Smart engineering for a sustainable future through innovation and digitalisation.” As an official partner, Uberbinder is featured prominently on the WED website with a curated video highlighting its North American pilot trial in Waltham, Massachusetts—a milestone showing how engineering innovation can accelerate the transition to low-carbon infrastructure.

An official International Day proclaimed by UNESCO and managed by the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO), WED reaches more than 100 countries and represents over 30 million engineers. For Uberbinder, this partnership places its patented bio-polymerized sulfur binder technology within the global engineering community’s most urgent conversation: building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable infrastructure while advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 9.

The world’s 25 million miles of paved roads carry a hidden carbon burden. Road infrastructure emissions rival global annual output, driven largely by fossil oil-based bitumen. Uberbinder’s drop-in alternative, made from abundant sulfur and regenerative biomaterials, replaces bitumen while remaining fully interoperable with existing roadbuilding equipment and processes. “Our mission is to deliver durable, high-performance roads the world desperately needs to support a low-carbon future,” says CEO and co-founder Jett Yang. “This isn’t incremental change; it’s a root-level transformation.”

The WED video showcases real-world deployment. In August last year, Uberbinder and Cassidy Paving completed North America’s first field installation of a low-carbon asphalt test patch within the Mass Mobility Hub research zone at BXP’s Urban Edge portfolio in Waltham. The company’s global ecosystem now spans the University of Liverpool’s Material Innovation Factory, Corning’s Advanced Flow Reactor systems, UK pilots with North Lanarkshire Council and Breedon Group, supported by AECOM, and European collaboration with FEHRL through the CIRCUIT consortium in Spain.
