Advisory board
Dr. Amit Bhasin is one of the world’s leading authorities on the science of asphalt — and a valuable advisor of Uberbinder. A Professor in the Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and Director of Center for Transportation Research, he has spent his career at the intersection of materials science and mechanics, working to make roads more durable, sustainable, and better understood.
His expertise runs to the very heart of Uberbinder’s technology. Across a wide body of work on pavement materials — from the self-healing behaviour of bitumen to the structure-property relationships that govern how a binder performs — Dr. Bhasin co-authored a definitive review of the evolution of sulfur as a pavement construction material, making him a rare expert in precisely the chemistry Uberbinder is working to scale. A faculty member at Texas since 2008, he holds a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT in India and a PhD from Texas A&M. His contributions have been recognised with honours, including the distinguished National Science Foundation’s CAREER award and the ASCE Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize.
As an advisor to Uberbinder, he is as much an open-minded coach as he is an expert — the kind who meets a young company’s boldest ideas with curiosity rather than caution, and helps the team see further by asking better questions.
Equal parts scholar and mentor, Dr Bhasin gives Uberbinder something every deep-tech venture needs but few are fortunate enough to find: a world-class expert who believes in the mission, and who is generous enough to help build it.
